Hydro-Québec’s grant for efficient heat pumps

This grant is an incentive to purchase energy-efficient appliances and is part of the 2030 Plan for a Green Economy presented by the Quebec government.

Details about this grant

Get $50 in financial assistance per 1,000 BTUs of heating output at –8°C.
For example, a heat pump with a capacity of 10,000 BTUs of heating output at –8°C will qualify for $500 in financial assistance, while a unit with a capacity of 20,000 BTUs at the same temperature will qualify for $1,000 in financial assistance.

This grant provides financial assistance to homeowners who are undertaking renovations to make their homes more energy efficient and more comfortable.

  • The Canada Greener Homes Grant is available to owners of eligible primary residences.
  • Homeowners must register for the Rénoclimat program to benefit from this grant

Energir sustainable decarbonization grant

Up to $7,400
This grant program encourages homeowners to switch from natural gas heating to a dual-energy electricity-natural gas solution. Generous grants are available to homeowners using a natural gas heating system who wish to add a heat pump to their ducted central heating system, or to add an electric water heater to their gas furnace!

Details about this grant

  • The existing gas system does not need to be replaced to be eligible for the grant.
  • Residential customers who opt for dual-energy electricity-natural gas can benefit from Hydro-Québec’s dual-energy rate and save on their heating costs.

Chauffez vert program

Get up to $1,275
The Chauffez vert program supports homeowners who want to replace their oil or propane heating system with an electric system (or with another renewable energy source).

Details about this grant

The work must include removal of the oil or propane tank and dismantling of the current fuel furnace or boiler.
